Blog

Hello! As you have noticed, by actually making it to my blog, I have made several changes to Studio Southwest Photography since January 2018. I've changed my business name to Claudia Aubertin Photography, and my logo has changed to a stylized photo turned graphic, by me, of one of my many vintage cameras. Other changes include my location. I have closed the commercial studio in Fonthill and have moved my business to my home in Welland, at 109 First Avenue. Other changes include a new phone number to 289-213-8106, and new email claudiaaubertin@gmail.com. My last and major change is that I will only be doing small weddings of one to two hours in length by special request only called Weddings on the Go. Thanks and I am excited to move forward with these new changes to serve you better. I look forward to hearing from you.

Succeeding the world of photography these days is not easy. I've been in this profession for nearly 30 years and have seen many changes. The advent of digital photography has certainly made photography a much more competitive world. To be perfectly honest, at first I was reluctant to delve into the digital realm. And I resisted for quite some time. However, as the world and technology advances, so must I. So I dove in, and here I am. It truly was a whole new learning curve. It really was in some ways, (for me) like learning photography all over again. Anyhoo, I digress. Succeeding in the world of photography as a pro boils down to just one thing. LOVE. You must truly love photography, eat, sleep and dream photography. If you don't have the passion you will be overlooked by those who do. If you're getting into it purely to get rich, you should find another career. Of course, there are moments when you will feel totally uninspired, down and like you want to quit. I can't tell you how many times, I've wanted to quit. But I persevered. Picked myself up, and moved forward. Because I love it. Another tip for anyone wanting to be successful in photography.....find a great mentor. I would have quit years earlier if hadn't been for my beloved mentor who gently encouraged and taught me. So that's it in a nutshell. Hope you enjoyed my post!
